Tips for good welcome messages
Section titled “Tips for good welcome messages”- Keep it short. New members skim. Three lines beats three paragraphs.
- Point somewhere. Tell them where to go — #rules, #roles, #general. Don’t make them figure it out.
- Use {user}, not {user.name}. The mention (
{user}) pings them and makes the message feel personal. - Match your vibe. A gaming server and a professional community need different tones. Write how your community talks.
- Test it. Click the Test button in the dashboard. See what it actually looks like in Discord before a real member sees it.
How to set it up
Section titled “How to set it up”- Open the Ori dashboard
- Go to Plugins → Welcome
- Paste or type your message
- Pick text or embed format
- Click Test
- Done
